Okinawa de Suki ni Natta Ko ga Hougen Sugite Tsura Sugiru Release Date, Plot, Trailer, and More Update

The previously announced Okinawa de Suki ni Natta Ko ga Hougen Sugite Tsura Sugiru (translated as “The Dialect of the Girl I Fell in Love With in Okinawa is too Difficult to Deal With”) anime adaptation has finally gotten a teaser trailer and visual. The main character and staff have also been released.

Production company Happinet created an official website for the anime on Monday to reveal the main cast and other necessary information.

Okinawa de Suki ni Natta Ko ga Hougen Sugite Tsura Sugiru Cast:

Teruaki Nakamura: Takeo Ootsuka (“Oshi no Ko”)
Hina Kyan: Akari Kitou (Tonikaku Kawaii)
Kana Higa: Fairouz Ai (Akuyaku Reijou Level 99: Watashi wa Ura-Boss desu ga Maou dewa Arimasen)

Based on the web manga of the same name, the anime adaptation is directed by  Shingo Tanabe (Isekai de Cheat Skill wo Te ni Shita Ore wa, Genjitsu Sekai wo mo Musou Suru: Level Up wa Jinsei wo Kaeta), and supervised by Shin Itagaki (Kumo desu ga, Nani ka?) at studio  Millepensee. The pair have also taken over the composition of the series. The character design is by Tomohiro Yoshida (Wake Up, Girls! Shin Shou sub-character design). Lastly,  Tomohisa Ishikawa (Super Cub), Yoshimi KatayamaAyano Kinjou are responsible for the music.

Hodaka Fukumura is the dialect consultant, while Okinawa-based VTuber NemaUi is the PR ambassador for this project.

Okinawa de Suki ni Natta Ko ga Hougen Sugite Tsura Sugiru, created by Egumi Sora has been published on the Kurage Bunch web manga platform since January 2020. Shinchosha shipped the seventh volume in July 2023, and the eighth volume is scheduled for a February release. The synopsis is as follows:

I, Teruaki Nakamura, transferred to Okinawa and fell in love with a girl… but I can’t understand her dialect. Thankfully, Higa-san is always helping me out with translations.

A cross-cultural romance that’s a wee-bit different begins on the southern island!
