Fluffy Paradise Episode 2 Review And 3rd Episode Release Date

Fluffy Paradise continues its tale of reincarnation in probably one of the best places known to anyone in the anime universe. After an amazing first episode, it’s time to see what’s in store for episode 2 and how it played out.

Fluffy Paradise

Fluffy Paradise and its beginnings

Fluffy Paradise, otherwise known as Isekai de Mofumofu Nadenade Suru Tame ni Ganbattemasu or I’ll Try My Best So I Can Pet and Pat in Another World, is an Isekai light novel written by Himawari which started production in 2012 before beginning serialization in 2016 with illustrations by Kiouran. The series eventually got a manga adaptation in 2017 with illustrations by Yuriko Takagami. The manga has accumulated eleven volumes so far.

The story follows Akitsu Midori, who dies after being overworked. After dying, she is blessed by God with a special ability to be loved by non-human beings. In this life, even though humans do not like her, she finds comfort in all the furry creatures of the world. She is reborn as Nema, the youngest of a top-class family. Fluffy Paradise basically follows the newly reincarnated Nema as she survives the world and enjoys its fluffiness.

Fluffy Paradise takes a step back from many Isekai storylines such as The Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime, in that it allows its characters to just exist in their new lifeform. Answering the age-old question, why don’t they just get reincarnated into a better life?

Episode 1 recap

The first few trailers of Fluffy Paradise promised a world of fluffy and animal interactions after a long hard life led by our protagonist. Finally, being born into a new world, she can now live her lifelong dreams of being loved by animals. The animation was well done with several hints of softness and a kawaii nature that one can expect from an anime where the protagonist is a little girl.

In episode 1 of Fluffy Paradise, we see how Midori Akitsu meets her sad demise after she abruptly collapses and dies. We also see how a diety grants her to be reincarnated into Asdyllon, where the human population persecutes non-humans. We also see how God grants Midori with the ability to establish bonds with all the fluffy animals she wants making her affectionate with non-human creatures.

We see Midori’s new life as Nema, the place where she lives and her lifestyle. We also see her first encounter with Lars, the family’s pet tiger, and Wilhert, the kingdom’s crown prince. After an encounter with a fire dragon summoned by her sister, Nema jumps into the arena to shield the dragon from getting attacked. Let’s see how the story progresses.

Episode 2 review

Episode 2 of Fluffy Paradise begins with Nema coming face to face with the dragon realizing that she can talk to the dragon and reason with him not to attack the others. In exchange, the dragon gets some head pats and some lines of dialogue with an audible lisp. The interaction with the dragon is the cutest moment within the show so far but based on the premise of the show, I think the cuteness will be pushed up to 100 every episode going forward.

The OST scenes, also tease the upcoming furry humanoid creatures and the potential creatures that our little princess will cross paths with.

As the episode goes on, we see that everyone is amazed by her. The dragon grants her an orb that allows her to communicate with him mentally which she transforms into a bow for her little teddy bear. Eventually, an investigation begins into this mysterious power, and Nema and her family are brought before the king and several holy men of the area.

We begin to realize that the ulterior motives of everyone in the room aside from Nema are to weaponize this orb and use the dragon as a pawn in war while the holy men want to keep Nema in their observations for the time to come. We see the themes of innocence and indoctrination playing an important role in the episode and how even though Nema feeds Lars barehanded she is still an innocent little girl.

We also see a lot of hate passing through each character in the show, from holy men accusing Nema’s father of not being her dad to her mother standing up for her husband. But regardless, Nema is loved by pets.

The final few scenes of the episode follow Nema meeting more “dragons” (which are designed like dinosaurs). She plays with them, flies with them, and just has a lot of fun with them. But the lingering question throughout this episode is, “Who is she?”

Overall, Fluffy Paradise continues its sickeningly sweet style and carries on into a world that showcases innocence in its truest form. Only time will tell if this series will flip it on its head and break all of our hearts.

Episode 3 release date

Fluffy Paradise releases weekly, with its next episode releasing on January 21, 2024. The title of this episode is “The Lovely Gift”, teasing a potential puzzle piece into the mystery of Nema, hopefully, some more interactions with God, and a new creature on the horizon.

All in all, let’s see how fluffy this anime truly gets.
